Welcome to the highly aniticaped Round 3 of the Western Province Kart Championships at Killarney, where the best of the best racers gather to battle it out on the track. The event promises to be a spectacle of speed, skill, and adrenaline as drivers compete for coveted championship titles and all-important SARMC points for the Rotax classes. The spectators are in for a treat, with intense races and nail-biting finishes expected throughout Saturday.

Bambino (5th – 9th birthday)

Bambino features some of the most promising young drivers in South Africa. The championship leader, Michael O’Mahoney, has dominated the season thus far and will be looking to extend his lead in the standings. However, Yaqeen Gamieldien, Slater Smith, and Carter Cedras are all in a close battle for podium spots and are keen to challenge O’Mahoney for the top spot.

Jake Steyn and Caleb Lingeveldt will be hoping for a better run after some disappointing performances in previous races, while Jacques Lewis, Ebrahim Khalfey, and Radhi Harris will also be looking to make their mark and challenge for the top spots.

These young stars will deliver some thrilling racing action, with a mix of experienced drivers and rising stars all vying for the top spots on the podium. It will be interesting to see who emerges as the winner in what is sure to be a closely contested race.

Micro MAX (7th – 11th birthday)

This weekend’s Micro Max races look set to be exciting, with a talented field of drivers lining up. The man to beat will undoubtedly be Michael Danks, who has been in dominant form recently. However, Liam Wharton will likely be his strongest challenger for the win, as he has been consistently quick all season long.

Two rising stars to keep an eye on are Jayden van der Merwe and Michael O’Mahoney. Both have shown impressive pace in recent races and could surprise the more experienced drivers with their speed.

Another pair of drivers to watch out for are Ashaan and Kiyaan Reddi. These siblings have demonstrated incredible promise at both regional and national levels, and could be the ones to upset the established order.

Rounding out the entry list are Ruan Lewis, Carter Cedras, Zac Hindley, and Mia Hermanus. Although these drivers may not be as well-known as some of their competitors, they have all shown potential and could pull off a surprise result on the day.

Mini ROK (8th – 13th birthday)

Mini Rok is shaping up to be an exciting competition, with a strong lineup of drivers set to take on the challenging Killarney circuit. The field will be led by some familiar faces from the last race, including Max Boshoff, Sebastiano Human, Daniel Arendse, Max Denisov, and Zac Boshoff.

Max Boshoff is likely to be the one to watch, having shown impressive speed and consistency in the last race. Sebastiano Human and Daniel Arendse are also expected to be strong contenders, having finished close behind Boshoff last time around.

Max Denisov and Zac Boshoff will be looking to improve on their previous results and push for a podium finish, while Logan Roehrig, Aadiv Singh, Ethan Azar, and Ruhan Victor will be looking to upset the frontrunners and make their mark in the Mini Rok category.

Mini MAX (9th – 13th birthday)

Mini Max is shaping up to be an exciting one, with some of the most promising young drivers in the field ready to battle it out for the top spot on the podium. Leading the pack is the dominant Keagan Beaumont, who has been in outstanding form and is expected to be a formidable force to beat.

However, Cody Schultz, Nicolas Lennox, Liam Koekemoer, and Franco Bensch are all determined to give Beaumont a run for his money, and are likely to put up a strong fight to secure a place on the podium. With their impressive driving skills and fierce determination, any one of these talented drivers could end up taking the top spot if they manage to stay ahead of the pack.

Zach McAuley and Aleksandar Praizovic are also expected to be strong contenders, as they hone in their skills and experience. 

As the day unfolds, fans can expect to see a thrilling battle between these talented drivers as they push themselves to the limit and fight for victory at one of the most challenging tracks in the country.

Junior MAX (12th – 14th birthday)

Junior Max features a talented group of young drivers and is probably the most competitive Regional class in the country right now. For perspective, Ethan Deacon who finished in P5 last time out is a Western Province Champion. This weekends entry list this boasts some of the  best emerging talents in South African karting.

Leading the pack is Reece Koorzen, who has been in outstanding form this season and is currently the championship leader. He will be joined by Keagan Beaumont, who has also shown great speed and consistency throughout the season.

Jordon Wadeley is another driver to watch out for, having claimed multiple podium finishes this year. William Marshall and James Nash will be looking to build on their solid performances from earlier races and challenge for top honors.

Up next, Deacon, Joshua Smit, and Jude Stuart will be looking to make their mark on the competition, while Cole Hewetson and Anwil April will also be aiming to cause some upsets.

It promises to be an exciting weekend of racing, with the Junior Max entry list featuring a blend of experienced racers and promising newcomers. Fans can expect plenty of wheel-to-wheel action and close battles as these young drivers compete for victory on Saturday.

Senior MAX (14th birthday +)

Senior Max promises to be a highly competitive affair with a talented field of drivers set to take to the track. Charl Visser, Matthew Wadeley, Storm Lanfear, and Ethan Stier are all considered top National drivers and are expected to showcase their insane speed and skill once again. These drivers are on a different level right now, and their battle for the top spot will surely provide plenty of entertainment for the fans.

In addition, Zac Laden, Lucas Aladag, and Gabriele Gazzilli will also be in the mix and should not be underestimated. With their own unique set of skills and driving styles, they will surely add to the excitement of the day and make for an intense and thrilling race.

The Senior Max races should not be missed. With such a high level of competition on display, fans are sure to be treated to some truly incredible racing and an unforgettable experience.

DD2 (15th birthday +) and DD2 Masters (32nd birthday +)

The premier DD2 and DD2 Masters categories are set to deliver some thrilling racing. 

In the DD2 category, the entry list features some of the best karters in the world, including Joseph Oelz, Jason Coetzee, and Sebastian Boyd – all National Champions. Jaden Jacobs will also be one to watch, as he looks to catch up to the front runners. Meanwhile, Reza Levy is set to make his DD2 debut, adding to the excitement of the competition.

MASTERS

In the Masters, Conor Hughes and Jared Jordan are the early favorites to lead the pack. However, they will face tough competition from returning veteran Neville Chapman and Niël Lambrechts, who showed impressive improvement in the previous race. Robert Peche, Johan Hamman, and Andrew Thomas will also make a welcome return to karting in 2023, rounding out a strong and competitive field. 

With such a talented and experienced lineup, the racing promises to be intense and action-packed, making for a thrilling weekend of premier class action at Killarney.

WP CLUBMANS

This weekend’s WP Clubmans racing at Killarney promises to be exciting with a talented and diverse entry list. The man to beat is undoubtedly Luca Wehrli, who has shown impressive form this season and will be a tough competitor for anyone on the grid. However, André Le Riche and Jade Lanfear are expected to go all-out to chase him down and secure the top spot.

Meanwhile, Sean Le Riche has also been impressive this season and will be looking to make a strong push for a podium finish. He will face stiff competition from the likes of PJ Garbutt, Jade Smith, Jason McArthur, and Christopher Flack, who will all be determined to put in a strong performance and secure a top result.

The race will also feature some new faces, with Jerome Alfred and Declan O’Connor set to compete, alongside Shan Laubscher and Andrew Thomas, who will be making their first appearance of the year.

Overall, with such a strong entry list, it will be fascinating to see who comes out on top in this highly-anticipated spectacle.
